The Buchanan County Public Library would like to thank everyone who made our annual Summer Reading program a success. As a community, we logged over 230,000 minutes read!
Some of the highlights of Summer Reading 2018 included a magic show by Chris Michael to kick off our Reading Takes You Everywhere celebration and our BCPL Travel Around Games closing program and cookout.
Children participating in Mrs. Teresa’s Summer Reading classes designed dream catchers, learned about dinosaurs and fossils, built rockets, designed their own scuba gear and safari hats, and created glow-in-the-dark art pieces for the black light gallery featured in the closing program.
Adults participating in the Teen and Adult Summer Reading classes with our Director, Sherry Bright, worked on their bucket lists, enjoyed a B movie and retro concessions in our Atomic Theater, began a life organization binder, participated in a fish cooking demonstration, and learned about traditional crafts from other cultures.
